Under normal circumstances, the coke is surrounded by volatile matter, and it is difficult for the oxygen in the quenching chamber to penetrate the surface of the coke. When the quenching of the volatile matter is about to end, the temperature of the coke and its surroundings is already very high, and the oxygen in the air may also touch the surface of the coke. The coke began to go out, and ash was produced from time to time.
